IDAHOBIT 2026 – LGBT World Beside
On 17 May 2026, LGBT World Beside and the Central Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA) mark IDAHOBIT – the International Day Against Homo-, Lesbo-, Bi-, Trans- and Interseksefobie. Under the theme 'You be you', the event brings together LGBTIQ+ residents, contact persons and partners from across the Netherlands for a gathering centred on visibility, safety and connection. Aviation Inclusion Event – IDAHOBIT 2026
Aviation Inclusion Event to mark IDAHOBIT, co-organised by EUROCONTROL and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) at EUROCONTROL Headquarters, Brussels. Monday 18 May 2026, 10:00–16:30 CEST. This is the first European-level initiative dedicated to advancing LGBTQIA+ inclusion in the aviation sector. Brings together industry representatives, operational actors, HR and diversity practitioners, and civil society organisations. Agenda includes keynote interventions, panel discussions and interactive sessions exploring how inclusion drives trust, performance, innovation and workforce sustainability. IDAHOBIT 2026 Flag Raising – Kyneton
IDAHOBIT flag raising at Kyneton Mechanics Institute, organised by Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health in partnership with Macedon Ranges Shire Council. The ceremony features a performance from the Rainbow Voices Choir, a free barbecue and cakes from the Country Women's Association. All are welcome. Monday 18 May, 1pm–2pm.
IDAHOBIT at UOW – Pulse Campus Event
Join UOW Pulse on 14 May for an upbeat IDAHOBIT event at the Duck Pond Lawn (Northfields Ave, Wollongong). Bright colours and big personalities are encouraged! The 2026 theme is 'At the Heart of Democracy.' Activations include badge making, pride-inspired friendship bracelet making hosted by the Psychology Society, and airbrush tattoos with Raeleen's Fancy Faces. Come and connect with local support services in a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.
IDAHOBIT Yoga
Celebrate IDAHOBIT 2026 (International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination) with a yoga session at Hawthorn Aquatic and Leisure Centre, hosted by City of Boroondara. Textile Poetry Workshop with Sydney Sydney
Get creative with thrifted fabrics in this hands-on textile workshop led by artist Sydney Sydney (they/he). Participants will design and create a one-line fabric banner that reflects their identity and personal expression. The finished pieces will be soft, handmade and celebrated – with every artwork featured in the Gallery of Young Art (GoYA) as part of Pride in June. IDAHOBIT 2026 – Self Care As Community Care
May 17th is IDAHOBIT: International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersex Discrimination, and Transphobia. Each year, this day stands as a rallying point for LGBTIQA+ communities to stand together in opposition to the systems of oppression which lead to violence and discrimination. The fight against LGBTIQA+ discrimination takes a lot of effort and a strong community, so it is essential that we look after ourselves so we can better look out for one another. Join A Gender Agenda (AGA) for a community event exploring self-care as community care, with a range of self-care activities and opportunities to connect with other members of the community. Drag Bingo Night
Enjoy a fun night of laughs, colour and community with high-energy hosting, lively performances and a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. No bingo experience needed – just come along for a fun-filled night. Book a table of 8, bring your friends or come solo – all are welcome. Pride Crafternoon
Macedon Ranges Youth and the WayOut team at Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health are partnering to celebrate IDAHOBIT with an afternoon of all things crafty. We invite young people aged 12–21 who live, work or play in the Macedon Ranges or surrounds to join us for some crafting and connection. There will be jewellery making, crochet kits, keyring designs, badge making – or feel free to bring your own craft project!
