IDAHOBIT Flag Raising – South Gippsland Shire Council

South Gippsland Shire Council raises the rainbow flag to recognise IDAHOBIT Day (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia) and show support to the LGBTQIA+ community. Due to 17 May 2026 falling on the weekend, the flag raising is held on Wednesday 13 May at Council's Main Office, 9 Smith Street, Leongatha. Council's office will also be illuminated in rainbow colours from 13–17 May.

Gionata Initiative – Ecumenical Vigils for Overcoming Homotransbiphobia

The Gionata Initiative coordinates annual ecumenical vigils for overcoming homotransbiphobia in faith communities across Italy and internationally, held in connection with IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia). On Sunday 17 May 2026, vigils are held at 7:00 PM in multiple cities including Cosenza (Villa Vecchia) and Catania, with church communities across Italy invited to hold their own local vigil. IDAHOBIT Screening: ONENESS – Alliance Française de Delhi

Alliance Française de Delhi, in collaboration with the Aravali International Film Festival, presents a screening of ONENESS followed by a panel discussion, in observance of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT). ONENESS: Inspired by a true event from 2013, the film tells the story of Ivan Martin, a young boy from a deeply conservative Christian family in Manipur, India, whose love for Pamheiba — a boy from the Meitei community — becomes a radical act of resistance. As part of this year's IDAHOBIT theme 'At the heart of democracy', ReportOUT is hosting a global panel debate with panellists from across the globe. The discussion will explore: how international awareness days like IDAHOBIT support communities; what it means for LGBTQIA+ rights to be a democratic issue; and what more can be done as allies to support communities at local, national and global scale.
