In Lima LGBT activists protested outside the headquarters of the Ministry of Justice to protest their exclusion from the National Human Rights Plan. Over 1,500 letters and 1,200 signatures were also presented, protesting this decision. The organisation PROMSEX also marked the Day by submitting its report on hate crimes against LGBT people in Peru over the past year.

LGBT activists demonstrate in front of the Ministry of Justice on May 17

In Lima 50 LGBT activists gathered outside the headquarters of the Ministry of Justice in Miraflores to protest their exclusion from the National Human Rights Plan. During the protest they delivered to the Ministry table, over 1,500 letters and 1,200 signatures collected before the announcement that LGBT rights would not be included in the plan.
PROMSEX submitted its report on hate crimes in Peru
During 2012 seven murders were reported and hundreds of physical attacks against LGBT people in the country, according to the Annual Report on Human Rights Transgender, Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual in Peru 2012, presented at the World Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia for May 17, 2013.
