End Rainbow Violence

In celebration of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), SPARK Philippines launched the #EndRainbowViolence Movement through an event that featured a gallery of stories of discrimination, marginalization, and prejudice together with an open mic, to maximize the chance of spreading awareness, sharing stories, and being heard.

The partners were the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Manila and Embassy of Canada in the Philippines who co-organized the movement launch with us. Terre des hommesMindanao PrideKumuZ Hostel Philippines, PLUD, and INQUIRER.net InqPOP were the official online media partner.

The campaign was under another larger movement called ‘Respect to Naman’. Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo, UN Women, The Embassy of Sweden in Manila, SPARK! Philippines, and Empower collaboratied for #RespetoNaman, a Nationwide Campaign Against Gender-Based Violence. The goal of the project is to spark a sustainable movement across the nation to eliminate all forms of gender-based violence in the Philippines through campaigning for awareness, empowerment, and policy.
