BURMA : CELEBRATIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

This year, activists for sexual and gender minorities will be organizing IDAHO event in 7 cities across the country.

For the event in the capital, Yangon, the organisers will receive support from the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission, the British Embassy and UNAIDS.

The events will include the launch of a research project entitled  ”Facing 377: Discrimination and Human Rights Abuses Against Transgender, Gay and Bisexual Men in Myanmar” which will focus on the infamous 377 legal article criminalising ‘sodomy’ which was handed down from the British colonial rule and still incorporated in many penal codes across the Commonwealth.
