On June 29, between 50 and 60 people were arrested after participating in Saint Petersburg Pride 2013. Some reports suggest that all, or almost all, participants were held. Anti-gay protesters were also arrested. Moreover, reports from witnesses and those detained, affirm that Pride participants were beaten by anti-gay protesters, before their circling and arrest by police. Several prominent LGBT rights activists were detained.
