More than 90 events were reported in the United Kingdom, making it one of the largest national mobilisations of the year. Actions for the Global Rainbow Flashmob took place in London, Manchester, Brighton, Sheffield, Newcastle, Swansea and Glasgow. Foreign Secretary, William Hague, also underscored his, and the UK government’s, support for May 17, with a special statement published at the start of the Day.
Many of the best and brightest of the UK LGBTQI scene, and allies – from Radical Bookshops and the Pansy Project, to bus drivers in Derby and Fire Fighters in Shropshire, to the Lesbian & Gay Foundation, Sheffield Museums and members of Trans Media Watch, and many many more – spoke out in style for May 17, 2013. A full list of all events for 2013, listed by region, is available at the dedicated IDAHO UK site (with special thanks to volunteer UK coordinator, Derek Lennard, for compiling it).
On this page you will find a very select set of highlights (currently from London only).

Gay Star News worked with the London Gay Men’s Chorus and Big Gay Band for a musical flashmob to mark the Day in London. Students from the London College of Communication helped edit the video:
