Join us for an evening of learning, sharing, and celebration as we honor IDAHOBIT 2025 with a special screening of O lou taimi nei’ (Your Time is Now) a powerful short documentary capturing a landmark cultural moment in Samoa.
This event brings together Brown Girl Woke, the Samoa Fa’afafine and Faatama Association (SFA), and UN Human Rights to spotlight the strength and visibility of Samoa’s LGBTQIA+ and SOGIESC communities.
About the Film:
‘O lou taimi nei’ documents the birth of Ballroom culture in Samoa—led by a vibrant team from Australia including:
- Ella Canza, Miss Samoa Fa’afafine 2024/2025 & Mother of the House of Alexander
- Eliam Royalness, Father of the House of Juicy Couture AUS
- Pisces ‘Pulusi’ Alexander, House of Alexander
Through immersive workshops and the unforgettable Boom, Kaisi Ball, the film offers a joyful and transformative journey of identity, pride, and performance.
But beyond the runway, ‘O lou taimi nei’ dives deep—highlighting the importance of allyship, sisterhood, and community in building resilience and global queer solidarity, especially across the Pacific diaspora.

“The power of communities” reflects the diversity and richness within LGBTQIA+ communities, from the grass roots to the global, celebrating our varied and intersecting backgrounds, identities, and experiences. The theme for 2025 highlights the strength and resilience that emerges from our collective solidarity, recognising the contributions of human rights defenders, 2SLGBTQIA+ civil society groups, allies, and the people in our communities who support human rights and collective liberation.
Fun, informative, heart-wrenching, and sometimes hilarious, this event explores perspectives and thoughts on the impact homophobia, transphobia and biphobia has had on all of us in the community by members of the community like you. It’s a fun, lively night, a roller coaster of emotion and never ceases to be a fascinating exploration of this region’s perspective on our small, but mighty 2SLGBTQIA+community. Proudly supported by Run For Rocky, Windsor Pride Community and Trans Wellness Ontario.

IDAHOBIT* 2025 in Lüneburg

Eng. Text
Once again this year, we are raising our voices for solidarity, pride, and existence by bringing together all the colours of the rainbow. As part of the 17 May 2025 Pride events, we take to the streets to demand justice, equality, and freedom. We speak out for everyone who feels forced into the closet due to rising hate crimes, homophobia, transphobia, and biphobia, both in the northern part of Cyprus and all around the world.
Even in 2025, being LGBTI+ rendered invisible, while discrimination and hatred persist as systematic threats to our fundamental human rights. But we know: a queer life is one that is colourful and has learned to resist. A world where love, identity, and existence are not treated as crimes, and where everyone can express themselves freely, is not a dream; it is a right.
With this year’s theme—“Oppression Is One Color, Resistance Is a Rainbow”—we stand tall and resist in the face of increasingly hostile conditions for queer existence. We unite for a fairer, more inclusive, and freer future for all.
The march will start on 17 May at 18:30 in front of Suitex and will end with a party at Lefkeliler Inn.
Together we are stronger.
Together we are more visible.
Together we exist.
“Because even if we are bound by different chains, none of us are free until all of us are.”
