Dance Protest for LGBTQ+ Rights in Russia
Well hello, my darlings! You've been waiting for this announcement.
On May 17 isn’t just my birthday — it’s also the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. And yes, I’m once again throwing a dance protest in support of LGBTQ+ people in Russia
Here’s what we’ve got planned:
A real DJ spinning all the queer anthems in every language (Verka Serduchka, t.A.T.u., Lady Gaga — at the very least)
So much rainbow, glitter, and yas-worthy lewks
Wild dancing — like we’ve already won, and this is the afterparty
A cozy table at a nearby pub — for those who want to chill, do some glitter makeup, or write a letter (or draw something!) to political prisoners in Russia
Queer merch for donation — all proceeds go to @comingout.global (Coming Out, a group directly supporting LGBTQ+ people in Russia)
Dialogue for the Inclusion of Diversity
The Dialogue for the Inclusion of Diversity was a space for meaningful engagement among civil society organizations representing the LGBTIQ+ population, United Nations Country Team (UNCT) and UN Globe in honduras. Held in the framework of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), the dialogue commemorated the historic decision by the World Health Organization to remove homosexuality from its list of mental illnesses. It also served as a platform to advocate for the human rights, equality, and dignity of all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
The event saw strong participation from civil society organizations representing the LGBTIQ+ population, highlighting their leadership and active role in the national efforts to promote inclusion and protect rights. Through open dialogue, participants addressed key concerns currently faced by the community, including stigma, violence, and barriers to access to services and justice. During the dialogue, the UN also assured the participants about the organization’s unwavering commitment to protect their human rights and accompany them in facing the challenges shared.
The space reinforced the collective commitment to strengthen joint efforts in guaranteeing the rights, equality, and inclusion of all people without discrimination. It also underscored the importance of continuing to build alliances between civil society and the United Nations to promote transformative change and ensure that no one is left behind.
In a context where the LGBTIQ+ population are facing backlash globally, the meeting and public posts regarding it, contributes to advocate for their rights and inclusion.

Trans-Allyship in Action
Cork marks May 17th, the International Day Against Homophobia, Lesbophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT) each year with LGBTI+ Awareness Week, reaffirming our commitment to equality, inclusion, and solidarity.
This year’s theme, "Trans Allyship in Action," highlights the urgent need for meaningful and active support for trans and non-binary people. At a time when trans rights are increasingly under attack globally, allyship must go beyond statements of support. It must be a commitment to advocacy, protection, and empowerment.
We invite you to attend, engage, and stand in unwavering solidarity with trans and non-binary people in Cork and beyond. Through a series of events, discussions, and community gatherings, Cork LGBTI+ Awareness Week 2025 will explore what it means to be a true ally in policy, workplaces, schools, healthcare, and everyday life.
Nearly a decade after the Gender Recognition Act 2015 granted legal recognition to trans male and trans female people in Ireland, many still face barriers to healthcare, safety, and full social inclusion. Hate crimes and transphobic rhetoric are on the rise, highlighting the need for strong protections and meaningful allyship. While discussions around hate speech legislation continue to evolve, it remains vital to ensure that all communities feel supported and safeguarded. Together, we can build a future where trans people are not just accepted but celebrated and protected.
