IDAHOBIT 2025: Moč skupnosti

IDAHOBIT 2025: Moč skupnosti

On the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), Legebitra is organizing a full-day community-centered program focused on intergenerational dialogue, collective resistance, and the strength of LGBTIQ+ communities.

We will bring together the pioneers of the LGBTIQ+ movement in Slovenia, who publicly spoke out for equality in the 1980s and 1990s, with the youngest generation of activists, who are now fighting on TikTok, Instagram, and in the streets. Through conversations, exhibitions, and performances, we will explore the tools and tactics of the past and present and share visions for a more just and inclusive future.

🌈 IDAHOBIT 2025: Moč skupnosti

📍Sobota, 17. maj | Legebitrin mladinski center in dvorišče | Trubarjeva 76a Ljubljana

Pridi občudovat pogum, domišljijo in nežnost ujetih trenutkov.

🥐☕ Piccola Cafe - Jutranji ritual z razvajanjem
Dan bomo začeli v stilu: z nami bodo čudovite Piccola Cafe, ki bodo s sabo pripeljale baristo, kavni aparat in kup ljubezni. Kuhale bodo sveže kave za vse udeležence, zraven pa prinesle veganske rogljičke, chia lončke in mehke kolačke – vse brezplačno.

🍩Donut tell! – Krofi in bubble tea za dušo
Med dnevom nas bodo razvajali tudi iz Donut tell – prinesli bodo slastne Pon de ring krofe in pripravili sveže mešane bubble tea napitke.

🍴 Piknik s hrano izpod rok Anžeta Kuplenika
Po okrogli mizi in razstavi sledi popoldansko mreženje in piknik, kjer bomo uživale v jedeh, ki jih bomo dan prej skuhale skupaj z zmagovalcem 5. sezone Masterchefa – Anžetom Kuplenikom.

💜 Pridi z lakoto po znanju, okusu, mreženju in umetnosti!
Dogodek je popolnoma brezplačen, odprt za vse LGBTIQ+ osebe in zaveznike.
Skupaj praznujmo vidnost, pogum in skupnost.

Práva kvír ľudí dnes. A práva dalsích kedy?

Práva kvír ľudí dnes. A práva dalsích kedy?

17. mája si opäť spoločne s vami pripomenieme Medzinárodný deň boja proti homofóbii, bifóbii a transfóbii, tzv. IDAHOBIT.

KEDY: V sobotu 17. mája od 17:00 hod.
KDE: park pred NR SR
PREČO: Príďte s nami vyjadriť solidaritu so všetkými kvír ľuďmi. Poďte s nami povedať nie nenávisti, predsudkom a útlaku.
KTO TAM BUDE S VAMI: Amnesty International Slovensko, Dúhové rodiny, Iniciatíva Inakosť, Saplinq, Združenie rodičov a priateľov LGBTI+ ľudí, Otvorená kultúra a ďalší.

IDAHOBIT je každoročnou pripomienkou toho, že Svetová zdravotnícka organizácia (WHO) 17. mája 1990 vyradila homosexualitu zo zoznamu duševných chorôb a porúch správania, ktorý je súčasťou Medzinárodnej klasifikácie chorôb (tzv. ICD). Začiatkom roka 2022 vstúpila do platnosti nová verzia ICD 11, ktorou WHO konečne vyradila zo zoznamu duševných chorôb a porúch správania aj transrodovosť, respektíve tzv. rodový nesúlad.

Pri príležitosti IDAHOBITu preto spoločne s vami a našimi partnerskými organizáciami, ktorých zoznam sem doplníme čoskoro, vyzveme vládu, parlament a všetky zodpovedné osoby, aby Slovensko, Maďarsko a ďalšie krajiny zastavili systémové útoky a útlak kvír ľudí a začali napĺňať svoje ľudskoprávne záväzky.

Zdieľajte naše podujatie ďalej a pomôžte nám ho dostať medzi všetkx, ktorx chcú vyjadriť svoju podporu a solidaritu všetkým kvír ľuďom.

Communion

Communion

Communion or Queer Communion is a project dedicated to remembering and celebrating the lives of marginalised queer people who were murdered for living as themselves. The project is a rejection of the attempts to dismiss, defile or simply erase LGBTQIA+ people. It started from a need to process on a personal level the emotional impact of news reports of hate crime murders that became increasingly frequent during the Covid pandemic. It has continued in part because of the engagement of those in the community who have reacted positively and encouraged me to continue.

I believe that hate crime and the manner in which authority and society respond to it act to create an environment of fear, as well as the sense that LGBTQIA+ lives are disposable and shameful. In spite of this queer people continue to live openly in defiance of attempts to control or police them into compliance. The works are meant to celebrate the simultaneously incandescent and ordinary lives that have been lost, as well as mourning, they also are a refusal of the tendency to place the inflicted pain, death and violence at the centre of how we remember them.

The project is also about visibility, asking us who is deserving of commemoration and who we are content to erase, sweep under the carpet. Many of these were create using photographs that were blurry or overly cropped, and in some sense the accessibilty of photographs has dictated the choice of portraits.

The project consists of a series of portraits that evoke a sense of the sacred through references to spiritual iconography to create spaces for contemplation and stillness. There are currently three forms of the project that are ongoing.

An installation consisting of a 14 sided metal framework that holds 13 portraits that are hand painted on cast acrylic sheeting and act in a similar way to stained glass windows, was first exhibited at the Spier Light Art Festival in 2021, and later at the Kopano gathering. This installation included portaits of Nonhlanhla Kunene; Sphamandla Khoza; Motshidi Pascalina (Pasca); Kirvan Fortuin; Sam Mbatha; Buhle Poswa; Lindokuhle Mapu; Nare Mphela; Bonang Gaelae; Lonwabo Jack; Phelokazi Mqathana; Lindokuhle Cele; Liyabona Mabishi.

A series of watercolour paintings on paper that aim to act as a commemorative archive. The watercolour paintings allow for a more responsive archive and will continue to evolve and grow in response to the environment as much as is possible.
