In Nairobi, the Suncity Africa Foundation and the Central Initiative for Transgender, Young Gay, Lesbian and Asylum Seekers (CITY GLASS) hosted a two-day event for IDAHOT 2016 that focused on the experiences of LGBTI asylum seekers and refugees. The event, Refugee Pride, hoped to raise awareness of the specific difficulties faced by LGBTI asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in Kenya and across the world.
CITY GLASS also marked IDAHOT 2016 by launching their annual report, which addressed the situation of young LGBTI refugees living in Kenya.
Outside of Kenya, NYARWEK, the LGBT coalition in Nyanza, Rift Valley and Western Kenya, marked the day online and with a closed community event.
