16 May • 17:30 +12

Join us for an evening of learning, sharing, and celebration as we honor IDAHOBIT 2025 with a special screening of O lou taimi nei’ (Your Time is Now) a powerful short documentary capturing a landmark cultural moment in Samoa.
This event brings together Brown Girl Woke, the Samoa Fa’afafine and Faatama Association (SFA), and UN Human Rights to spotlight the strength and visibility of Samoa’s LGBTQIA+ and SOGIESC communities.
About the Film:
‘O lou taimi nei’ documents the birth of Ballroom culture in Samoa—led by a vibrant team from Australia including:
– Ella Canza, Miss Samoa Fa’afafine 2024/2025 & Mother of the House of Alexander
– Eliam Royalness, Father of the House of Juicy Couture AUS
– Pisces ‘Pulusi’ Alexander, House of Alexander
Through immersive workshops and the unforgettable Boom, Kaisi Ball, the film offers a joyful and transformative journey of identity, pride, and performance.
But beyond the runway, ‘O lou taimi nei’ dives deep—highlighting the importance of allyship, sisterhood, and community in building resilience and global queer solidarity, especially across the Pacific diaspora.
