The Future of Global LGBTI+ Rights: Navigating Uncertainty and Building Alternatives
29 May • 14:30 BST

To mark this year’s International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia, Kaleidoscope Trust is proud to announce a free online panel on May 29th at 2:30 PM (UK time).
Join our free, virtual event where Kaleiodoscope Trust will bring together activists, changemakers, diplomats and civil society leaders, to engage in a focused dialogue about the threats facing LGBTI+ rights and communities worldwide in this new era. The discussion will also explore strategies to strengthen collaboration, leverage international networks, and identify new opportunities to support and protect LGBTI+ rights in this critical period.
The global landscape for LGBTI+ rights demands urgent attention as a resurgence of populism and a troubling backlash against equality unfolds in many parts of the world, particularly in countries with a colonial legacy. Hostility towards LGBTI+ advocacy and communities is reshaping public discourse, bringing opportunities for collaboration, and setting concerning precedents in human rights practices. The proliferation of homophobic narratives and regressive policies is risking hard-won progress and endangering the safety, dignity, and freedom of our communities.
Our communities are our backbone, and we are honoured to celebrate them today and every day.
Join us in solidarity, reflection, and action.
