Join us for IDAHAT 2026: At the Heart of Democracy! ❤️

On Sunday, May 17th, Pride Cape Breton Society invites you to a free, all-ages community gathering to observe the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.

This year’s global theme, “At the Heart of Democracy,” celebrates the resilience, diversity, and voice of our 2SLGBTQIA+ around the world. It serves as a powerful reminder that the soil of truly democratic societies must be rich in meaningful equity and must be grounded in justice and freedom for all.

We are thrilled to partner with Anchor Youth Space Sydney and Cape Breton Youth Project to host this event & offer an afternoon filled with community and celebration!

What to Expect:

— Guided Paint Event facilitated by Oliver King

— Button Making station hosted by Youth Project staff

— Animal Experience with Jay’s Crazy Critters reptile show
— Screening of The Youth Project’s Cape Breton Queer History documentary
— Face Painting and Balloons by Joker’s Wild Entertainment

🍕 Food
— Free Pizza, snacks, cake, and refreshments.
