May 17 is the International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO), the anniversary of May 17, 1990, when the United Nations World Health Organization removed homosexuality from the “International Classification of Diseases” and excluded it from treatment.
To commemorate this day, Rainbow Nagoya, an organization for sexual minorities in Aichi Prefecture, will hold an “IDAHO Nagoya 2024” street action in front of Sakae Mitsukoshi Lion on Thursday, May 16, from 5:00 pm to around 6:00 pm. A mini-parade will follow at 6:00 pm, and a social event will be held at Queer+s, an LGBT mixed bar, at 7:00 pm.

Info: 今月のさんかくラウンジは、今週17日(金曜日)に開催されます。その日は、ホモフォビア、バイフォビア、インターセックスフォビア、トランスフォビアに反対する国際デー(IDAHOBIT)です。毎年、グローバルテーマが設定されますが、今年のテーマは「だれひとり取り残さない 平等、自由、正義をすべての人に」です。ジェンダーやセクシュアリティについて話したい方、SOGIESC(性的指向、性自認、性表現、性特性、性的特性)に関心がある方、またはただ安心して過ごしたい方など、弘大の学生や教職員の皆さんはどなたでも参加できます。開催時間中は自由に出入りできますので、ぜひご参加ください。お待ちしています。

This month’s Sankaku Lounge happens to take place on the Intl. Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexphobia, and Transphobia. Shared is this year’s global theme for the day. We can discuss it at the Lounge if any of the participants feels like it.
