IDAHOBIT | Antipolo City

Info: It will be the very first IDAHOBIT Observation in Antipolo City and probably for the entire Province of Rizal. We invited members of the LGBTQIA+ community to attend symposium which will be discussing common challenges of the community accessing legal services.

We also invited some local law makers and champions to ignite the conversation of pushing for Anti-Discrimination Ordinance against the members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Info: On May 17, 2024, the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Headquarters will be a pivotal event for the SOGIESC development agenda in the sub-region under the theme “No One Left Behind: Equality, Freedom, and Justice for All.” The day will start with a networking breakfast and quickly move into a series of detailed discussions, beginning with ADB’s top officials setting the stage for a commitment to diverse SOGIESC inclusion. Panels throughout the day will address public sector strategies for legal and policy enhancements, corporate and civil society roles in promoting inclusion, and practical steps for implementing these commitments in South Asia. Critical discussions will be led by notable figures such as Woochong Um, Moriaki Kida, and Albert Park, alongside other regional experts, discussing innovative practices and strategies to combat discrimination and enhance inclusivity across various platforms. This gathering aims to foster dialogue, outline actionable strategies, and highlight ongoing and future initiatives for strengthening equality and inclusion across the region.
