Picket to be organized by Saeima to attract attention to LGBT rights

RIGA – On May 17 when the world marks the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, a picket will be organized by the Latvian parliament building, Elizabete Vegnere, a representative of youth organization Protest reported.

The organization plans to hold a picket by the Saeima to attract attention of the problems of the lesbian, gay, bisexuals and transpersons community and their discrimination.

The organization calls on people to gather by the Saeima in solidarity with the LGBT community, demanding active steps from the Latvian government and parliament in protection of its citizens.
