Celebrations in China were very low-key in 2019. Many diplomatic missions marked the Day with events but organisations faced more severe restrictions than usual.

Event: Delia School of Canada Kowloon East  Rainbow Day
Direction: This is a middle school LGBTQ+ club initiative to raise awareness and acceptance of all gender and sexual identities. Students in the club will organize announcements and activities, as well as hand out rainbow ribbons to other students to wear in support.

Event: HK IDAHO+ 2019
Direction: Idaho+ is an international recognized event held every year at the 17th May, this year, we commemorate this day with the theme of ‘Flag the Diversity’. Aiming to raise public awareness of LGBT+ rights, our event will feature activity stalls and a gender and sexual diversity flags exhibition. We hope more identities under the queer umbrella aside from LGBT can also be recognized and understood.
