Info: Miss Pink Nepal is a national platform dedicated to celebrating and empowering transgender women in Nepal. Organized by the Blue Diamond Society with support of Right Here Right Now and AIDS Heathcare Foundation Nepal, this event aimed to provide a unique and honorable lifetime opportunity for transgender individuals to express their identity, showcase their talents, and contribute to societal change. Miss Pink Nepal was revived after five years to coincide with the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Transphobia, Interphobia, and Aphobia (IDAHOBITA+) on May 16, 2024.
The even took place at Rastriya Naachghar, Kathmandu where UN Resident Coordinator, H.E Hanaa Singer was te chief guest, Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Roshan Pokhrel, Acting President of Yuwa, Aastha Subedi, and the Country Program Manager of AIDS Healthcare Foundation Nepal, Divya Raj Joshi were the special guests.
The program included performances from performers from diverse identities. Sign Language Interpretation was ensured for the ones who needed to promote inclusiveness. Topics discussed during the selection rounds were, education, health, inclusivity, conflict, acceptance, national tourism, good governance, etc. The program ran for about four hours and at the end Nepal got it’s Miss Pink Nepal 2024 Ms. Anmol Rai, First Runner-up Ms. Sarosy Neupane, and the Second Runner-up Ms. Aarohi Basnet.
The Miss Pink Nepal 2024 will be mobilized and engaged by Blue Diamond Society for a year and she will also participate at the Miss International Queen, Thailand.
Celebration on international day against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia 2024

Info: Mitini Nepal celebrated the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia with great enthusiasm and meaningful participation. The event featured esteemed guests, including the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal, Hon. Indira Rana Magar, the Guest Commissioner of the National Human Rights Commission, Hon. Top Bahadur Magar, and the Deputy Representative of UN Women, Mehatab.
A highlight of the event was the launch of the book “No One Left Behind: Equality, Freedom, and Justice for All,” which contains eight compelling stories. These narratives aim to shed light on the importance of equality and justice for all individuals, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation.
During the formal program, special recognition was given to Milan Bastola and Nirmala Bastola, a remarkable trans man couple who have shared their lives together for over 25 years. Additionally, a family member was honored for their unwavering support and advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights.
The event also included an informal program, featuring performances such as dance and poetry by community members. These creative expressions served as powerful reminders of the strength and resilience within the LGBTQ+ community.
Overall, the celebration was a testament to the spirit of inclusion, acceptance, and solidarity, reaffirming Mitini Nepal’s commitment to advocating for the rights and dignity of all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
