IDAHOT Report 2015: Peru

Peru was again host to various events organized by civil society organizations to commemorate the May 17th, International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. The presentation of a report on violence against LGBT people, artistic activities and performances took place during a whole week of events.
The Peruvian LGBT Network and the Center for the Promotion and Defense of Sexual and Reproductive Rights (Promsex), made a presentation of the ANNUAL REPORT ON HUMAN RIGHTS LGBT 2014-2015 and the Annual 2015 Awards.
The Civil Association Tsanwa Peru launched for the month of May a campaign on social networks under the slogan “MONTH OF THE FIGHT AGAINST Homophobia”. As part of the campaign, several videos were shot with popular figures from Peru to support the LGBTIQ community against violence. You can watch videos on their Facebook page.
Meanwhile the CHERL (Homosexual Community of Hope for the Loreto region) organization did various activities throughout May as part of the activities commemorating IDAHOT under the 7th campaign “Loretanos Against Homophobia”.
