Dominican Republic once again hosted a serie of activities to commemorate the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. The events were organized LGBT activists with support from various European embassies.
To mark the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, embassies of European countries in the country projected a film adaptation of a French short ‘Sand Dollars’. The screening was sponsored by the embassies of Germany, Spain, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and representatives of the United Nations system, the event also enjoyed the support of the National Films Agency. The presentation was held on Thursday, May 14 this year in the Dominican Cinematheque.
The organization Revasa (Volunteer Network Friends Forever Friends) held a workshop with psychologists, psychiatrists and sex educators on conversion therapies, as these are flourishing in the country.
This workshop panel was held on Friday May 15 at the Cultural Center of Spain in the capital, Santo Domingo.
