Pride Cook Islands is excited to announce that Phylesha Brown-Acton (Member of the NZ Order of Merit for recognition of her work with LGBTQI+ communities from Pacific Island countries) will celebrate IDAHOBIT in the Cook Islands!
Pride Cook Islands is proud to host Phylesha’s visit where she will feature as the guest speaker at a special IDAHOBIT evening event at the Edgewater Resort & Spa on Wednesday 17th May at 6pm. Phylesha will share her journey and her experience of advocacy work within Pacific Island communities. The evening event is open to our members and the wider community and we look forward to celebrating IDAHOBIT in a warm, empowering and loving environment.
IDAHOBIT day will also be celebrated in the Cook Islands through:
* A fun fitness cultural ‘Aka’uka’ dance class that is IDAHOBIT rainbow themed on Monday 15th May 5-6pm at the Tupapa Maraerenga Fitness Centre
* An IDAHOBIT luncheon on Wednesday 17th May with Pride Cook Islands and Te Tiare Association
* Pride Cook Islands merchandise being sold on Wednesday 17th May downtown Avarua so the wider community can also help show their support
* A countdown to IDAHOBIT day online campaign on the Pride Cook Islands Facebook page utilising official illustrations https://www.facebook.com/PrideCookIslands
