En vue de la Journée internationale contre l’homophobie, la biphobie et la transphobie, la Commune de Schifflange et la Maison des Jeunes vous invite le 17 mai à partir de 16.00 heures sur la place de la Liberté, devant l’Hôtel de Ville.

Dans le cadre de cette journée spéciale, une multitude d’événements sont planifiés à travers le monde pour sensibiliser aux violences, discriminations et injustices subies par les personnes LGBTQIA+. Schifflange souhaite également apporter son soutien à la lutte contre ces discriminations et propose pour la troisième année consécutive un événement dans le cadre de l’IDAHOBIT.

Venez vous joindre à un atelier créatif animé par l’artiste Gilles Lanners (KNOX), essayez un atelier sportif avec l’équipe de Lëtz Pol’n Dance, et écoutez les témoignages de personnes directement touchées. De plus, vous aurez l’opportunité de vous informer auprès de divers stands d’information (Planning familial, Uni.lu) et de participer à un échange de vêtements organisé par la Maison des Jeunes de Schifflange.

Op dësem Dag ginn op der ganzer Welt Eventer organiséiert déi op d’Gewalt, d’Diskriminéierung an d’Ënnerdréckung géigeniwwer der LGBTQIA+- Community opmierksam maache sollen. Och Schëffleng wëll en Zeeche géint Diskriminatioun setzen an organiséiert déi drëtt Editioun vun dësem Sensibilisatiounsevent am Kader vum IDAHOBIT. Hei hutt dir d’Chance un engem kreativen Atelier mam Kënschtler Gilles Lanners (KNOX) oder un engem sportlechen Atelier mat Lëtz Pol’n Dance Deel ze huelen. Bei verschiddenen Stänn (Planning Familial, Uni.lu) kënnt dir Iech weider iwwer dës Thematik informéieren, Erfahrungsberichter vu betraffene Persounen héieren an och erëm beim Kleedertausch vum Schëfflenger Jugendhaus mat maachen.

Panel discussion: “Can we bridge the generation gap within the LGBTQIA+ community?”

“The old don’t listen and the young know it all” – stereotypes about different generations exist and they also do in the LGBTQIA+ community.

While this “community” is often referred to as “family” or a close-knit group of support, research suggests differently considering differences between generations:

– More than 60 percent of LGBTQ elders report feeling an isolating lack of companionship; – Two in five feel disconnected from the younger LGBTQ community.

Join us for a dynamic panel discussion on the generation gap within the LGBTQIA+ community, featuring diverse voices from different age groups on our panel on IDAHOBIT, 17th May, 7 pm. Our aim is to foster understanding and empathy by highlighting the varied experiences and perspectives within the LGBTQIA+ community. Through discussion but also dialogue and listening, we aspire to bridge divides and pave the way to be able to work towards greater understanding, solidarity, and collaboration in the future.

Come join us on Friday, 17th, at 7pm at the Rainbow Center and participate in our interactive panel – everyone in the audience will be able to make their voice heard as well.

The discussion will be held in English.
