IDAHOT Report 2016: Serbia

The Gay Straight Alliance of Serbia this year held their 2015/16 Raimbow Awards ceremony on May 17, to coincide with IDAHOT 2016. The event celebrate diversity and progress within the Serbian LGBT community by recognizing the individuals and organisations who have worked towards the equality of the LGBT community.
The event took place in Belgrade City Hall and saw awards given to a number of amateur and professional campaigners.
Also in Belgrade, independent activists organised an ‘IDAHoBiT Queer Picnic’ for members of the public. The open event welcomed the LGBT community, as well as allies, for an inclusive day celebrating gender and sexuality of all forms. The event included food, music and the chance for the community to meet, discuss, and gain support from their peers.
