IDAHOT Events 2015: Czech Republic

In Prague, the Czech AIDS Help Society organised a ‘Run against homophobia and AIDS Candlelight Day support’ on May 16 in commemoration of IDAHOT on Vitkov hill.

The run was not competitive and the distance was 5 km. Over 40 runners participated, among them National AIDS manager, employees from U.S. embassy and finalists of Mr. Gay competition. The run had been organised for five years (2008-2012) nd after a two year interruption was brought back for IDAHOT 2015.

In Brno, in the South-Moravian province of the Czech Republic, activists organised the Rainbow Flashmob 2015.
The organisation Scientia at Iuventutis has organised this event to highlight the need to combat discrimination, human rights violations based on sexual orientation and gender identity, while promoting solidarity LGBT people worldwide.

The event started at 6pm on Sunday, May 17 at Malinovského náměstí. At the end of the march, there was the ‘traditional’ rainbow balloon release.
