This website brings the essential information about the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia
The original “Dayagainsthomophobia.org” url was created in the beginning of the initiative in 2004. Since then, the scope and the name have constantly expanded. Local initiatives have boomed, that each have their specific name, acronym, visual identity, etc.
With the new url “May17.org” we acknowledge this diversity and focus on our commonalities.
This site is powered by a very small team of volunteers dedicated to keeping track of what is cooking around the world for the Global Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia.
Ahead of May 17th celebrations, we are unfortunately not in a capacity to do more than report the events that are registered on our site and you will therefore find in the country pages here only a tiny fraction of what’s coming up. We suggest you contact your local LGBTQI++ organisation to see what they have planned. Chances are that they are part of the hundreds of entities marking the Day every year.
We will be very busy on our social media on the week around May 17 to provide coverage of the many activities that will happen. So stay tuned in !
