SUMMARY:IDAHOBIT 2025 in Munich
DESCRIPTION:Queerfeindlichkeit nimmt weltweit zu. \n// \nQueerophobia is on the rise worldwide. There have also been attacks on LGBTIQ* people and their organisations in Munich. We are fighting back against this: join the IDAHOBIT on Saturday\, 17 May\, 3 pm\, Sendlinger-Tor-Platz. \nIDAHOBIT is the International Day against Homo-\, Bi-\, Inter- and Transphobia. Extremism\, populism and hate speech are fuelling queer hostility; queer rights are being dismantled internationally and even criminalised in some countries. In Munich\, there were graffiti on LeTRa and Sub; queer people themselves were repeatedly the victims of attacks. \nBut we are many\, we are united\, we will not be divided. Whether gay\, lesbian\, bi\, trans\, inter*\, queer or ally – together we stand up for acceptance and human rights. \nWe call on all Munich residents and organisations to join our rally and the demonstration march through the city centre. \nRepresentatives of various LGBTIQ* organisations will speak from 3 pm. Our protest march will then start from Sendlinger Tor via Oberanger\, Rosental\, Viktualienmarkt\, Tal\, Isartor\, Frauenstraße\, Reichenbachstraße\, Gärtnerplatz\, Corneliusstraße\, Müllerstraße and Frauenhoferstraße to Papa-Schmid-Straße. We will be led by the drummers’ group Münchner Ruhestörung. \nThe IDAHOBIT is organised by Munich Pride and its supporting associations. This year\, the Münchner Aids-Hilfe is taking the lead. Our thanks go to the Munich Rainbow Foundation for their support every year!

SUMMARY:Onur Yürüyüşü / Pride March / Πορεία Υπερηφάνειας -2025
\nEng. Text\nOnce again this year\, we are raising our voices for solidarity\, pride\, and existence by bringing together all the colours of the rainbow. As part of the 17 May 2025 Pride events\, we take to the streets to demand justice\, equality\, and freedom. We speak out for everyone who feels forced into the closet due to rising hate crimes\, homophobia\, transphobia\, and biphobia\, both in the northern part of Cyprus and all around the world.\nEven in 2025\, being LGBTI+ rendered invisible\, while discrimination and hatred persist as systematic threats to our fundamental human rights. But we know: a queer life is one that is colourful and has learned to resist. A world where love\, identity\, and existence are not treated as crimes\, and where everyone can express themselves freely\, is not a dream; it is a right. \nWith this year’s theme—“Oppression Is One Color\, Resistance Is a Rainbow”—we stand tall and resist in the face of increasingly hostile conditions for queer existence. We unite for a fairer\, more inclusive\, and freer future for all. \nThe march will start on 17 May at 18:30 in front of Suitex and will end with a party at Lefkeliler Inn. \nTogether we are stronger.\nTogether we are more visible.\nTogether we exist.\n“Because even if we are bound by different chains\, none of us are free until all of us are.”

SUMMARY:Trans-Allyship in Action
DESCRIPTION:Cork marks May 17th\, the International Day Against Homophobia\, Lesbophobia\, Transphobia\, and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT) each year with LGBTI+ Awareness Week\, reaffirming our commitment to equality\, inclusion\, and solidarity. \nThis year’s theme\, “Trans Allyship in Action\,” highlights the urgent need for meaningful and active support for trans and non-binary people. At a time when trans rights are increasingly under attack globally\, allyship must go beyond statements of support. It must be a commitment to advocacy\, protection\, and empowerment. \nWe invite you to attend\, engage\, and stand in unwavering solidarity with trans and non-binary people in Cork and beyond. Through a series of events\, discussions\, and community gatherings\, Cork LGBTI+ Awareness Week 2025 will explore what it means to be a true ally in policy\, workplaces\, schools\, healthcare\, and everyday life. \nNearly a decade after the Gender Recognition Act 2015 granted legal recognition to trans male and trans female people in Ireland\, many still face barriers to healthcare\, safety\, and full social inclusion. Hate crimes and transphobic rhetoric are on the rise\, highlighting the need for strong protections and meaningful allyship. While discussions around hate speech legislation continue to evolve\, it remains vital to ensure that all communities feel supported and safeguarded. Together\, we can build a future where trans people are not just accepted but celebrated and protected.
