DESCRIPTION:En mobilisant des slogans historiques\, la Ville de Genève invite la population\, du 7 au 17 mai\n2026\, à refuser la normalisation des postures réactionnaires et des discours de haine afin de\nse positionner contre les violences envers les personnes LGBTIQ+.\nEn marge de la Journée internationale de lutte contre l’homophobie\, la biphobie et la transphobie du\n17 mai\, la Ville de Genève propose chaque année une campagne combinant un affichage public et\nun programme d’évènements et de rencontres visant à sensibiliser la population aux discriminations\nen lien avec l’orientation sexuelle et affective\, l’identité et l’expression de genre et les\ncaractéristiques sexuées. L’édition 2026 rappelle que les personnes LGBTIQ+ ont toujours existé et\ncontinuent de résister à l’effacement et au poids des normes dominantes. DESCRIPTION:The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands\, in collaboration with APCOM Foundation\, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB)\, Bangkok Pride\, GIRLxGIRL\, SCBX Next Tech\, Baturu\, and the Rights and Liberty Protection Department\, today officially launched IDAHOBIT 2026: “At the Heart of Democracy” – The Journey from Amsterdam to Bangkok. \nThis landmark initiative highlights the global journey toward equality and inclusion\, connecting Amsterdam and Bangkok through a shared commitment to human rights\, dignity\, and diversity. \nThe programme will take place from 15–18 May 2026 at SCBX Next Tech\, 4th Floor\, Siam Paragon\, Bangkok. \nThe event comes at a significant moment as Thailand marks the first anniversary of its Marriage Equality Law\, becoming the first country in Southeast Asia to legalize same-sex marriage\, while the Netherlands continues its global leadership as the first country in the world to have done so in 2001. \nAs part of the programme\, the Embassy of the Netherlands will present the internationally renowned Amsterdam Rainbow Dress\, a powerful 16-metre-wide artwork made from the flags of more than 60 countries where homosexuality remains criminalized. The installation serves as a poignant reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by LGBTQI communities worldwide. \nAPCOM Foundation will also showcase the 10th anniversary of the HERO Awards\, highlighting outstanding HIV and LGBTQI advocates across Asia and the Pacific through a photo exhibition and regional dialogues\, including voices from countries where LGBTQI people continue to face criminalization.

DESCRIPTION:The Rainbow Forum is an important annual event in Armenia and the country’s largest queer activist gathering\, bringing together LGBT+ people and allies\, activists and human rights defenders\, professionals\, and parents. \nIn 2026\, we are once again organizing one of the most significant events of the LGBT+ movement — the 11th Rainbow Forum — under the theme: “Compliance or Resistance”. \nAs war\, repression\, and political instability continue to intensify across the world and the region\, safe spaces for LGBT+ people are increasingly threatened. Many are forced either to resist or to leave their countries in search of safety\, often arriving in Armenia. At the same time\, the upcoming elections in Armenia are accompanied by renewed waves of manipulation and growing anti-LGBT+ and anti-gender rhetoric targeting women\, trans\, non-binary\, and other non-heteronormative people\, as well as defenders of women’s and LGBT+ rights. \nThis year’s forum is about our response. \nThe Rainbow Forum creates a safe and inclusive platform where participants can raise issues that matter\, share experiences\, support one another\, and take part in conversations about meaningful change for the LGBT+ community in Armenia. It is also an opportunity to learn from experienced activists\, human rights defenders\, and allies who continue contributing to equality\, dignity\, and justice.

This year\, the day is being observed worldwide under the slogan ‘In the Heart of Democracy.’\nTo mark this day\, as part of the LGBT Centre’s ‘Art for Rights’ initiative\, a photography exhibition will be held at Hөх Нар Сав Space from 15 to 28 May 2026. The exhibition opening will take place on 15 May 2026 at 18:00. \nThe ‘Art for Rights’ initiative aims to promote the understanding of human rights through art\, support artists on LGBTQI+ themes\, and create a space for queer artists. Art is a powerful tool that not only critiques social\, political and cultural realities but also calls for positive change and spreads love and pride.\nTo cite the history of AIDAHOBIT Day\, on 17 May 1990 —when the World Health Organisation officially removed same-sex orientation from its list of mental disorders—was a particularly significant event for the LGBTQI+ movement. In commemoration of IDAHOBIT 2026\, PurpleCode Collective and Kolektif Merawat Ingatan present a space to share stories\, feelings\, and hopes about the interweaving of care and resistance by watching and reflecting on the documentary A Litany for Survival: The Life and Work of Audre Lorde (1995\, Third World News Reel\, restored version) and a short film compilation by Koalisi Kebebasan Berserikat (KKB). \nThe session will continue with a creative response activity co-facilitated by the organizers\, where participants are encouraged to respond to the life and works of Audre Lorde and the three short films through writing\, creating\, or other forms of response.

Rainbow\, Zagreb Pride\, and trans flags go up on the main flagpoles on Ban Jelačić Square\, King Tomislav Square and other central spots. This ceremony has opened Pride programming since 2007 and now leads into the 25th Zagreb Pride March in June. \nYou can see the flags throughout the day across the central squares\, with crowds\, press and plenty of photo angles. The 2026 edition follows the global IDAHOBIT theme “At the heart of democracy\,” highlighting queer rights as part of public life.
