DESCRIPTION:IDAHOBIT marks the anniversary of the World Health Organization removing homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems. \nIDAHOBIT is now a day of action\, awareness and celebration for the LGBTQIA+ (lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, queer\, questioning\, intersex\, asexual\, aromantic and more) and queer community\, and allies are urged to celebrate\, enact change and raise awareness. \nThe goal is for every school\, institute\, and work area to submit at least one to the Bake Off. Groups or individuals are welcome to make submissions. Everyone is invited to attend the event and buy one of the cakes! \nThis competitive annual event shows visible support for LGBTQIA+ communities and raises money from the sale of the bake-off submissions for the LGBTQIA+ Bursary. There are also multiple ways to donate to the bursary at the event. Cake sales will commence after judging. \nAbout IDAHOBIT: Great Rainbow Bake Off\nThe UQ Ally Network is hosting its annual IDAHOBIT Great Rainbow Bake Off to raise funds for the LGBTQIA+ Bursary\, which is offered yearly for any UQ student who is a part of the LGBTQIA+ and queer community and is experiencing financial hardship. DESCRIPTION:The exhibition on homosexuality and trans* identity aims to break down barriers and raise awareness. Twelve roll-up displays provide visitors with information on the history of homosexuality: Until when were homosexual acts criminalized in Germany? What do the colors of the rainbow flag represent? What do penguins have to do with homosexuality? A wealth of interesting\, sad\, but also humorous information has been visualized in an entertaining way. The exhibition makes it clear that history is not a linear progression. SUMMARY:Queerer Aktivismus in Institutionen – Möglichkeiten und Grenzen
DESCRIPTION:Die Abteilung für Chancengleichheit der Universität Bern\, das Netzwerk «Queer UniBE» und die Fachstelle für Gleichstellung in Geschlechterfragen der Stadt Bern laden im Rahmen des IDAHOBIT 2026 zu einer Veranstaltung zum Thema «Queerer Aktivismus in Institutionen» ein. \nInhaltliche Angaben zur Veranstaltung\nDer Abend beginnt mit einer Lesung und einem Gespräch mit Mani Owzar\, Autor*in des Buches «Ich möchte nicht die perfekte Geschichte schreiben». Das Buch porträtiert queere\, rassifizierte Aktivistinnen aus der Schweiz. Der Begriff Aktivismus wird dabei bewusst breit gefasst: Er umfasst kulturelles Engagement\, das Sichtbarmachen eigener Erfahrungen sowie die Mitgestaltung gesellschaftlicher und politischer Prozesse. Gemeinsam diskutieren wir\, wie Aktivismus innerhalb von Institutionen aussehen kann und welche Rolle formelle und informelle Netzwerke dabei spielen. Im Zentrum stehen Fragen wie: Welche Formen von Aktivismus sind innerhalb etablierter Strukturen möglich? Wie können queere Netzwerke und Institutionen zusammenwirken? \nWährend des Apéros kann die internationale Fotoausstellung des Rainbow Cities Network besichtigt werden\, zu der auch die Stadt Bern ein Bild beigetragen hat. Ein Büchertisch von Queerbooks bietet zusätzliche Perspektiven auf queere Sichtbarkeit und Engagement.
