It’s a day of solidarity\, support\, and protest against discrimination and violence targeting LGBTQ+ people. Around the world\, this day is traditionally commemorated with actions like mass balloon launches — a symbol of freedom\, hope\, and the fight for equality. \nRainbow balloon flash mobs in honor of IDAHOBIT took place as far back as 2009 — in Russia\, as well as in Ukraine and Armenia around the same time. \nBut now\, as we all know\, with increased repression and stricter laws in Russia\, this kind of action can no longer happen as it once did. In today’s Russia\, we can no longer take to the streets with colorful balloons. DESCRIPTION:Khumbulani Pride is an annual event that is held in commemoration of the International Day Against Homophobia\, Biphopia\, Intersexphobia\, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) (17th May 2025). The event is rooted in remembering Lesbian\, Bisexual\, and Queer and Gender non-conforming (LBQ GNC) persons who have lost their lives or have experienced homophobia within their communities. \n‘Khumbulani’ means to remember and this year we ill be celebrating the life and legacy of Imam Muhsin Hendricks. Imam Hendricks\, the first gay Imam\, was assassinated in South Africa in February 2025.  The march will be held in Strand\, Western province.

DESCRIPTION:LGBT+ Organisations in Hong Kong will be here on the street. Setting up booths and discussing currently facing / upcoming issues. Feel free to come and share your thoughts with us and other participants \nCollaborating with 8 Gender and sexuality supportive organizations in Hong Kong\, we show our prominent presence in the streets of Causeway Bay to promote messages of gender diversity and equality. \nThe theme this year is “Allyship.” The event is divided into two parts. The first part aims to raise awareness among the public about the current situations of sexual and gender minorities encountered in Hong Kong\, highlighting issues such as lack of social understanding\, obstacles in the development of LGBT+ supportive NGOs\, and even instances of government support for homophobic institutions. The second part invites the public to join in the fight against discrimination by increasing gender awareness through simple acts of care and response in daily interactions\, all coming together to be good allies.

DESCRIPTION:Eine queere Kundgebung auf dem Schlossplatz Stuttgart\nGemeinsam gegen rechte Gewalt und Demokratieabbau\nAm 17. Mai\, dem Internationalen Protesttag gegen Queerfeindlichkeit\, demonstrieren\nverschiedene Organisationen der queeren Communities Stuttgarts und ihre Unterstützer*innen\ngemeinsam gegen die zunehmende Gewalt und Hetze gegen queere Menschen und den Rechtsruck\nvon Politik und Gesellschaft – hier in Deutschland und weltweit. Von 14.00 bis 15.30 Uhr laden die\nVeranstalter*innen zu persönlichen Gesprächen mit den queeren Organisationen auf dem\nSchlossplatz ein.\nAnschließend startet die Kundgebung mit Redebeiträgen\, Musik von Ela Querfeld und Auftritten\nder Drag-Artists SirDan Manhattan\, Holey Father und Ariana Gandhi. Durch den Tag führt Niyat\nHaile von Black Owned Business Stuttgart. Die Gedenkaktion findet symbolträchtig um 17.50 Uhr\nstatt. Am 17.5.1990 wurde Homosexualität aus dem Krankheitskatalog der WHO gestrichen.\nGleichzeitig bezieht sich das Datum auf den §175\, der die jahrzehntelange staatliche Verfolgung\ninsbesondere von schwulen und bisexuellen Männern ermöglichte.\nErgänzt wird die Kundgebung durch einen gemeinschaftlichen Informationsstand der\norganisierenden Gruppen.\nZum Organisationteam der IDAHOBITA Veranstaltung 2025 gehören u.a. das fetz\n(Frauenberatungs- und Therapiezentrum Stuttgart)\, die IG CSD Stuttgart\, just human\, die Mission\nTRANS*\, das Projekt 100% MENSCH\, LSVD+ Lesben- und Schwulenverband – Queere Vielfalt Baden-\nWürttemberg e.V\, Abseitz e.V. sowie die Weissenburg – das Zentrum LSBTIQA+ Stuttgart. Die\nOrganisationen laden die Stadtgesellschaft ein\, sich an diesem wichtigen internationalen\nProtesttag mit den queeren Communities zu solidarisieren. „Wir werden nicht zur zunehmenden\nGewalt gegen queere Menschen und die drastische Verschlechterung der rechtlichen Situation\ninsbesondere von trans und nicht-binären Personen weltweit schweigen!“\, so Béla M. Schreck vom\nProjekt 100% MENSCH.\nZu dem seit Jahren anhaltenden Anstieg queerfeindlicher Gewalt kommen nun die unter\nrechtspopulistischen Regierungen verabschiedeten queer- und insbesondere transfeindlichen\nGesetze in einigen europäischen Ländern und den USA hinzu. Auch in Deutschland gewinnen\nqueerfeindliche und autoritäre Kräfte an Einfluss. Auch ein Koalitionsvertrag\, in dem queere\nThemen nahezu unsichtbar sind\, ist besorgniserregend.\n„Mit der neuen Richtlinie der britischen Kommission für Gleichstellung und Menschenrechte\n(EHRC) wird trans Menschen untersagt\, öffentliche Toiletten\, Duschen oder Umkleiden ihres\nerlebten Geschlechts aufzusuchen. Dies zeigt deutlich\, wie sehr man trans Menschen aus der\nÖffentlichkeit verdrängen will. Dies dürfen wir nicht zu lassen. Aus diesem Grund sind wir Nie\nwieder still – Nie wieder unsichtbar!“\, sagt Alex Häfner von Mission TRANS* e.V.\nQueere Menschen erfahren nicht nur physische Gewalt – Diskriminierungen\, Beleidigungen\,\nabschätzige Blicke und mangelnde soziale Teilhabe sind ebenso an der Tagesordnung. Dies gilt\numso mehr\, wenn mehrere Diskriminierungsebenen wie Rassismus\, Behindertenfeindlichkeit\,\nSexismus und Queerfeindlichkeit zusammenkommen.\n„Das Motto des diesjährigen IDAHOBITA lautet ‘The Power of Communities’\, also frei übersetzt ‘Die\nKraft des Miteinanders’. Das finde ich passend.“\, meint Kerstin Rudat aus dem Vorstand des LSVD+\nLesben- und Schwulenverband – Queere Vielfalt Baden-Württemberg e.V. „In Zeiten\, in denen wir\nuns gerade eher weniger auf staatlichen Schutz verlassen können\, auch in Europa\, sind unsere\neigenen Communities wichtiger denn je. Gleichzeitig betont und spiegelt das Motto unsere Kraft\ndurch Vielfalt. Denn die war schon immer da – und die kann uns trotz all dem Hass\, trotz\nBedrohungen und Anfeindungen niemand nehmen.“\nBetina Starzmann von der IG CSD Stuttgart ergänzt: „Mit der Teilnahme am IDAHOBITA*-Protesttag\nstehen wir insbesondere den Menschen in unserer Community solidarisch zur Seite\, die\nTransfeindlichkeit und Rassismus erfahren. DESCRIPTION:17. mája si opäť spoločne s vami pripomenieme Medzinárodný deň boja proti homofóbii\, bifóbii a transfóbii\, tzv. IDAHOBIT. \nKEDY: V sobotu 17. mája od 17:00 hod.\nKDE: park pred NR SR\nPREČO: Príďte s nami vyjadriť solidaritu so všetkými kvír ľuďmi. Poďte s nami povedať nie nenávisti\, predsudkom a útlaku. Poďte vyjadriť\, že kým štát nerešpektuje a nechráni práva všetkých z nás\, nikto sa nemôže cítiť v bezpečí!\nKTO TAM BUDE S VAMI: Amnesty International Slovensko\, Dúhové rodiny\, Iniciatíva Inakosť\, Saplinq\, Združenie rodičov a priateľov LGBTI+ ľudí\, Otvorená kultúra a ďalší. \nIDAHOBIT je každoročnou pripomienkou toho\, že Svetová zdravotnícka organizácia (WHO) 17. mája 1990 vyradila homosexualitu zo zoznamu duševných chorôb a porúch správania\, ktorý je súčasťou Medzinárodnej klasifikácie chorôb (tzv. ICD). Začiatkom roka 2022 vstúpila do platnosti nová verzia ICD 11\, ktorou WHO konečne vyradila zo zoznamu duševných chorôb a porúch správania aj transrodovosť\, respektíve tzv. rodový nesúlad. \nAj napriek tomu\, že rovnosť práv LGBTI+ ľudí chráni aj medzinárodné právo\, na Slovensku aj v mnohých našich susedných či partnerských krajinách je ľudskoprávna situácia kvír ľudí naďalej zúfalá. Tento tragický fakt musíme konštatovať každý rok – so stupňujúcimi sa prejavmi nenávisti v online priestore aj na politickej scéne sa toto konštatovanie javí stále výstižnejšie a volanie po zmene o to akútnejšie. \nNa Slovensku opakovane počúvame\, že na práva kvír ľudí nie je naša krajina pripravená alebo že žiadame pre nich niečo navyše. Administratíva amerického prezidenta Trumpa útočí na práva kvír ľudí\, obzvlášť na práva transrodových ľudí na dennom poriadku. V Maďarsku zakázali nielen údajnú propagáciu homosexuality\, ale aj pochody hrdosti\, tzv. PRIDE\, v Poľsku čelia LGBTI+ ľudia systematickým útokom a diskriminácii\, prijatie manželstiev pre všetkých v susednom Česku je pritom len malou náplasťou na zúfalú situáciu v našom regióne. Na ochranu ľudských práv netreba špeciálnu prípravu\, stačí vôľa\, najmä tá politická. \nPri príležitosti IDAHOBITu preto spoločne s vami a našimi partnerskými organizáciami\, ktorých zoznam sem doplníme čoskoro\, vyzveme vládu\, parlament a všetky zodpovedné osoby\, aby Slovensko\, Maďarsko a ďalšie krajiny zastavili systémové útoky a útlak kvír ľudí a začali napĺňať svoje ľudskoprávne záväzky. \nPridajte sa k nám a poďme spoločne povedať hlasné NIE kvírnegativite a ÁNO ľudským právam pre všetkx v sobotu 17. mája o 17.00 hod. v blízkosti Národnej rady SR.\nZdieľajte naše podujatie ďalej a pomôžte nám ho dostať medzi všetkx\, ktorx chcú vyjadriť svoju podporu a solidaritu všetkým kvír ľuďom.
